It's finally starting to feel like spring a little bit. While we were in the deep freeze last week, my husband and I spent some much needed time in sun this weekend washing cars and sitting on the deck soaking up the rays. In an effort to bring on spring, we are working on getting our veggie garden ready for the summer growing season and the seed start has begun. I order my seeds from Botanical Interests, and in the most recent catalogue they provided a real cool guide on when to start certain seeds indoors. Handy!

Whose ready for spring yet? I know I say I want snow, but with two good snowstorms under our belt in the last week or so as well as a school closure, I'm kinda itching to see some green instead of all the white. I know green isn't coming outside for a while, but to brighten our spirits I'm bringing the green inside. So the plan is to start lettuce and spinach seeds indoors, but I needed a place to plant them so I created these planting crates out of cedar wood and some leftover barnwood. Come on and see how easy these are to make, and you probably have all the supplies necessary already!

Within the last week or so I've de-Christmased our house, and I'm amazed at how empty it looks or maybe I just have too many Christmas decorations. Well either way now I have to start filling it back up with some winter decor. I hit this week running ready to create all the ideas I had in my head, but boy how easy it is to get derailed or maybe my expectations were too great because I didn't get it all done however I do have a few new items to show you.

Does anyone have any good new year's resolutions? I have to admit I have a few personal ones as well as some professionally. One of them was to be more organized and consistent professionally this year, so I needed to create something to keep me on track and focused. Focused being the key word there! I decided to create an organization calendar for my artisan studio that is sure to help me keep that new year's resolution.

To say this project was simple is spot on and anyone can make it! I needed a potting table in my tool shed with a place to keep all my pots, dirt, and tools plus give me a space to work and make a mess with not a care in the world about clean up. Here's the finished product, come learn how easy this table really was.

I'm embarrassed to say how long it's taken to put this half bath project together, I was blogging about it in 2015. All the components were there from salvaged items to fabric for the valence over the window, it was just that last little piece of the puzzle that we couldn't seem to get finished. Well I'm excited to announce that it's done, our builder boring half bath is now a totally customized and unique space that fits our house perfectly.

What a whirlwind we had toward the end of last year including a couple of firsts for our growing company. We were pleased to announce our first ever entry into a local craft fair, and that went so well we squeaked into another just a couple of weeks later with equal amounts of success. 2017 also brought the launch of our online store at DiscoveryHomesColorado.com, plus we put together several custom orders for new and returning customers, with that said we've been a little lax on our blogging which we are ready to change! Starting off the new year right by giving you a few pictures of some of our custom orders and biggest sellers!

Holy smokes is it fall already?? Didn't the summer just start? Well I guess if it went that fast then I know we had a good time, right? Between the camping, visits to Wyoming, and an epic opportunity to see the total solar eclipse, I can safely and confidently say that yes we had a good summer.

Now that we are decorating for fall and bidding summer adieu, it's been super fun to create new decor for maybe one of my most favorite seasons. We have just rolled out some of our latest wooden decor for home just in time to decorate for fall.

So hind sight being what it is, I probably should have looked at the weather forecast before getting too excited to plan and create things for the veggie garden this week, but I did it anyway snow on the way or not. I got a little planting done with the plants that can handle some cold as well as added a cold frame on the cheap to protect them from freezing temps plus a new sign for the coop and I've got to show off our new chicks.

We're back turning something old and salvaged into a new piece to add to our decor. This week we've taken an old headboard that we no longer needed, and turned it into a wooden sign for our home theater which was lacking some decor.

We all have some leftover scrap from finished projects, so this particular project takes using your leftovers to a whole new meaning. Remember these doors? They became library shelves and storage in our work studio, but I still had the bottom half of the dirty door from the library shelves. By adding a leftover drawer front I had laying around from an old dresser I refinished, what did I get?

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to see and eat my way through Paris, France. Well I finally got my chance over spring break. We just got back from a wonderful journey through Paris, complete with a river cruise, summit to the Eiffel tower, and of coarse a trip through the Louvre. In a few words the trip of my lifetime so far. Come and see the sights we saw as well as a few tips that made this trip great.

I worked on a bunch of little projects this week. They aren't as satisfying as the big reveal to me, but you get a bunch of them under your belt, and you've got yourself a success almost as satisfying as a big project. Almost! I got a little more barnwood this week, and I was searching for some with a little bit of green in it. These particular pieces had clearly been outside in the weather, and have a little moss color to them.
